Chicago law firm has an opening for a trust and estates paralegal with at least 3 years of current experience. We are looking for a bright and savvy individual to join a busy group of attorneys who specialize in estate planning.

Ideal candidates will have their bachelor's degree along with at least 3 years of experience, preferably out of a large law firm.

Job Requirements

  • Provide analysis of estate planning
  • Assist with formation and maintenance of corporate and partnership entities (LLC, LLP, ELP)
  • Prepare and file estate, gift and fiduciary income tax returns as well as court required accountings.
  • Drafting legal documents pertaining to estate planning
  • Preformed by the paralegal involved with estate planning and probate will often differ
  • Edit, and update state-specific estate planning resources
  • Act as trustee over the estate
  • Serve clients at a high level with sophisticated estate planning needs
  • Write, edit, and update state-specific estate planning transactional resources
  • Familiarize with processes dealing with estate planning including disposition and valuation of assets
  • Assist with estate funding process and estate administration
  • Understand the complex estate planning principles and can respond to client inquiries in person or by telephone
  • Keeping open lines of communication with clients, financial institutions and courts Estate administration processing Drafting and finalizing estate planning documents Medicaid intake, processing and review
  • Sending required pre-appointment documents, collecting asset information, pulling files for client appointments, preparing preliminary drafts of estate planning documents for attorneys review, tracking estate
  • Drafting legal documents pertaining to estate planning
  • Maintained files regarding applicable law changes, current local court rules and statewide civil fees
