Executive VP Finance


Job Description

Under the supervision of the President the Executive Vice President  will be responsible for the development of COMPANY’s financial management strategy and contribute to the development of the organization’s strategic goals. In addition to the strategic components, the Executive Vice President  will be charged with developing and implementing more sophisticated policies and procedures in the finance realms. Strategy, Vision & Leadership

  • Maintains relationships with financial institutions in conjunction with the CEO/President with respect to banking arrangements and loan agreements.
  • Implements financial controls to ensure accounts receivables, accounts payable, payroll disbursements, budgeting, and similar activities are well controlled.
  • Advises the senior leadership team on business strategy and growth strategy. 
  • Oversees financial reporting, ensuring financial records and reports are prepared and maintained according to schedule, and in compliance with all regulations. 
  • Assures protection for the assets of the business through internal control, internal auditing, and assuring proper insurance coverage.
  • Establishes, coordinates, and administers an adequate plan for the control of operations including profit planning, programs for capital investing and financing, sale forecast, expense budgets, and cost standards together with the necessary controls and procedures. 
  • Oversees cost management and ensures a positive cash flow.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Business or Accounting degree mandatory, a master’s in business administration of Finance is preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a senior management role ideally with both external audit and in-house financial management experience gained in a high-growth organization
  • 2+ years of experience with Sage Intacct
  • Experience either as an employee or board member of a nonprofit organization; must be familiar with nonprofit finance and accounting regulations
  • Proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and development within a growing organization
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong mentoring, coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise
  • Entrepreneurial team player who can multitask
  • Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers
  • Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented

  • Thorough understanding of security operations.
  • Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mathematical concepts including computation of rates, ratios, percentages, averages and reconciliation.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of standard office productivity software.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various internal and external documents and reports.   
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence in a clear and concise manner.
