Job Description

Special Counsel is currently recruiting Temporary Immigration Paralegal for an Illinois Corporation.  The paralegal will report to the Peoria, Illinois location.  Work is mostly remote.  This is a 1 year assignment with the possibility of temp-to-hire conversion.  Benefits available.
Candidate Responsibilities



  • Manage and process permanent resident filings

  • Prepare detailed and potentially voluminous applications for action by government agencies by applying complex rules and departmental processes including filing petitions with governmental authorities

  • Ensure Company rights are protected by monitoring data bases and compliance/audit reports

  • Revise documents to meet government agency requirements by applying complex rules and departmental processes

  • Monitor, analyze, and advise on new cases

  • Meet and interview clients, including responding to client questions

  • Interact as necessary with outside counsel and service providers

  • Provide training or presentations on specific immigration issues, processes and policies

  • Suggest process improvements to improve any inefficiencies in work procedures 

  • Employee may also be responsible for performing other job duties occasionally as assigned.
