Compensation: $19.79 to $22.91 hourly

Accountemps's Full Charge Bookkeeper position is something you might be interested in. The long-term temporary-to-full-time Full Charge Bookkeeper will work in Burr Ridge, Illinois. The most successful candidate for this position will be able to establish and maintain the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives, as well as handle all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial statements.

Major responsibilities

- Maintaining historical records by filing documents

- Following progress of fixed assets to prepare depreciation schedules

- Maintaining adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements by keeping up to date on them, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions

- Completing bank and general ledger reconciliations; processing payroll

- Handling monthly, quarterly and year end close, accurately and on time

- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable; handling collections as needed

- Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and statements regarding income and cash flows

- Supervising tasks of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

Job Requirements

- High school diploma or similar certification with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended

- Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical skill sets

- Prior experience with Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree

- Strong familiarity with VLOOKUP

- Demonstrated knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)

- Adeptness in Accounts Payable (AP)

- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM

- Comprehensive knowledge of full charge bookkeeping

- Excel Formulas experience required

- General familiarity with general ledger

- Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Dynamics Ax

- Prior payroll experience preferred

- 5+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping

- Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills

- Knowledgeable of accrual and cash basis of accounting

- Able to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight

- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines

- Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner
